Quzhou City is located in the western part of Zhejiang Province, upstream of the Qiantang River, and is the western gateway of Zhejiang Province.
It is adjacent to Nanping City, Fujian Province in the south, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province in the west, and Mount Huangshan City, Anhui Province in the north.
The province ranks Hangzhou, Jinhua, and Lishui from north to southeast.
